Award-winning trombonist and singer-songwriter Sophia Griswold has been performing professionally in front of audiences since the age of 12. Currently, Sophia is performing in the house band for this year’s World Expo in Dubai: Expo 2020 Dubai. Over the years, Sophia has studied music at a number of acclaimed music programs through Jazz at Lincoln Center(NYC) and the Berklee College of Music (Boston) where she has worked with various Grammy Award winners including Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Perez, Ted Nash, and Carole King. Through these programs she has performed at internationally recognized venues such as The Newport Jazz Festival (RI) and Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola (NYC). She was also accepted into 2019’s All-National Jazz Band (Orlando) along with the 2019-2020 Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra (NYC). Radio and television appearances include ICRV (Radio), WFSB Eyewitness News 3 (Television), and WLIS 1420 AM/WMRD 1150 AM (Radio). Sophia professionally gigs regularly with jazz, soul, blues, rock, and funk groups either led by herself or others. Notable gig venues include The Side Door Jazz Club, Silvana, The West End Lounge, and Black Eyed Sally’s Blues Club. She is currently studying music at Berklee College of Music. Sophia loves joking around and having fun onstage. Being her goofy self when performing is what allows her to engage and connect with audiences!
